Add Orbit to your Discord server
Add the bot, check its permissions and set up the features you need.
Before you start
- A linked Discord account
- Permission to add a bot to your server
- Access to the roles and channels you want to manage
Sign in to Orbit
Sign in using an available method and link your Discord account. Orbit uses it to show the servers you can manage.
Select a server and invite the bot
Choose your server in the dashboard. If Orbit is not installed, use the invite button and confirm the permissions in Discord. You need permission to add bots to that server. Return to Orbit and refresh the server list afterwards.
Review roles and channel access
Place Orbit’s Discord role above the roles it should assign or manage. Check that the bot can access the channels you want to use, including private channels, and give it the permissions required by your chosen features.
Choose your first features
Complete the server setup, then open the tools you want to use. For example, set a welcome message, assign join roles or create AutoMod rules. Save your settings. You can add more tools and modules later.
Test your settings
Try a join, a role selection or another configured action in a test channel. Check what an ordinary member sees and what your moderators can do. If needed, adjust the settings and test again.
If something does not work
Check that the right Discord account is linked, refresh the server list and review channel permissions and role order. Check the feature’s availability and saved settings. If several features fail, check service status. You can contact Support through the dashboard.
